Hello all! Last week, we were fortunate enough to head over to EPCOT to attend our first Food and Wine Festival day of the 2021 season! I was very excited to go considering I had missed the entirety of the festival last year, ya know with a pandemic going on and whatnot. We had an opportunity to try a TON of new food offerings and I wanted to give you a list of the best five of the festival so far. So without further ado, in no particular order, here are our Top 5 Must-Try’s of Food and Wine 2021!
Frozen Apple Pie

To start us off, the Frozen Apple Pie at the Appleseed Orchard is on the list again this year! A return of a fan favorite, this sweet slushie combines cinnamon and apple flavors to create a refreshing beverage perfect for the hot Florida summers. The bottom of the drink has diced and caramelized apple chunks, much like you would find at the center of a warm apple pie. The Appleseed Orchard is a bit tough to find as it isn’t located on the main World Showcase walkway, but instead in the Maple Leaf Mine venue where Canada Far and Wide is regularly played throughout the rest of the year in the Canada Pavilion.
Crispy Chicken on a Sriracha-glazed Donut

A new contender for favorite snack of the year has arrived and it can be found at The Donut Box, right outside of the exit to Test Track! I went in with mixed expectations, but they were all quickly surpassed. The chicken was crispy and the sriracha glaze on top perfectly complemented the sweetness from the glaze of the donut. For $8.50, the sandwich didn’t come with any sides, but was still worth the price based on the size of the entree!
Roasted Porchetta with Pork-fat Roasted Rosemary Potatoes and Lemon-Parsley Salsa Verde

A new booth for this year is the Swanky Saucy Swine. It’s located in Showcase Plaza, right next to the bridge before you get to Mexico. This dish was fantastic! The meat fell right apart, the salsa verde was savory and the potatoes had been tossed in rosemary, which offered a taste explosion.
Kung Fu Master

This drink was a perfect way to cap of a long day and watch EPCOT Forever with. Chewy boba could be added for an extra $2 and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. **Pro-tip!** While this drink can be found at the China Booth, it can also be found a bit further down the way at the Joy of Tea stand for $2.50 cheaper and the stand generally has a shorter line than the seasonal booth.
Pão de Queijo: Brazilian Cheese Bread

Finally, another fan favorite from years past has been brought back for 2021. The Pão de Queijo at Brazil has a great cheesy center inside of a flaky crust. The Brazil booth does not open until October 1st, just in time for EPCOT’s 39th anniversary.
Thirty-two booths are currently open and another nine open on October 1st, the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. We cannot wait to see what all is in store for the 50th anniversary and to be able to celebrate for a full 18 months makes it even more magical! Happy Tasting, friends!
