It’s All About the Dots

Anyone else seeing dots or is it just me? Minnie Mouse is a complete style icon and has everyone wanting to Rock the Dots every single day of the year! Thanks to the Cath Kidston x Disney Collection, we can all easily do just that. Cath Kidston is the Home of Modern vintage and are based in the UK. They partnered with Disney to create this adorable Minnie Button Spot Placement Jumper, which was gifted to me and has instantly become one of my favorite sweaters! It has a unique, vintage look that features Disney’s original artwork and is one of the most versatile pieces that I own. I decided that one outfit to showcase was not enough, so I wanted to create three different outfits that highlight this lil’ beauty and really show the different ways you can express your love for your favorite stylish mouse.

I love the classic black, white and red colors that Minnie Mouse is always rocking so I really wanted to channel that through my outfits that I chose. My first outfit is definitely simple, easy and comfortable with the adorable Minnie Mouse jumper and a black circle skirt. If you’re headed to the Walt Disney World parks, add a pair of classic Minnie ears and you are ready to show off your best Minnie style! What I love about this outfit is that there is a large emphasis on the word comfort. This is important especially if you’re walking circles around the World Showcase at Epcot or booking it to your next FastPass. The jumper has a three-quarter length sleeve and is made of 100% cotton, which means it’s super lightweight and soft. It is a perfect all-seasons sweater that I totally intend on wearing even during the sweltering Florida summer!

Denim jackets will always be my go-to additional accessory to any outfit and I thought it would pair perfectly with this one! So, for those cooler nights or random cold snaps throughout the Spring season, this jumper can still be a perfect outfit for an outing during the day with friends or a fun date night with the one that you love! Something that I admire about Cath Kidston is that they have a cheery style that makes the pieces they create really one-of-a-kind. This design features beautiful artwork of Minnie Mouse, originally illustrated in the roaring 20s. Her hat was a signature look for her at the time and on this jumper it’s actually created with matte, red sequins! Her little flower that adorns the top of her hat is also made up of matte, yellow sequins as well. This small addition to the top really makes a difference and adds just a little extra sparkle that Minnie would definitely appreciate!

My second look brings in a mix of rocker chic meets Minnie Mouse and I think they get along pretty well. Keeping with the red, white and black trend I added a pair of black high-waisted distressed denim jeans and a black wide-rimmed hat to give it more of a street style feel. I wanted an outfit that you could wear to paint the town Minnie Mouse red, all while showing off your love for your favorite Disney gal.

This is definitely an outfit I see myself constantly wearing because when I am exploring new places around Florida or just grabbing a cup of coffee, I love to grab a pair of cute jeans, a comfy top and get on the road! I always try to work in a little bit of Disney style into every outfit which with this top, is an easy thing to do!

Dots on dots on dots on dots! Last, but not least this final ensemble is covered in dots and has become my favorite outfit that I put together. For me, one of the best things about this jumper is the overload of dots, or spots as Cath Kidston calls them, and really is a great statement piece. I wanted to go a little bit further and dive out of my comfort zone and add even more dots to the outfit. I found a pair of black and white spotted ruffle shorts and paired the two. To complete the look, I had to add those classic Minnie ears again because even the bow has little dots on the top. It was just too perfect!

Something that I am really into right now is conflicting patterns, for example putting together stripes and spots or plaid and zigzag. It can make an outfit very appealing to the eye and its always fun to be on the search for patterns that go well together. With this outfit, I really loved the medium-sized dots that cover the entire jumper and I thought finding a piece that was covered in smaller dots would really compliment the top. Thankfully I found these shorts and they go so well together, it’s as if they were meant to be!

Along with the jumper, I was also gifted the Mickey and Minnie Little Patches Shaped coin purse and it has become my number one to bring to the parks with me! Matching the crossbody bag from the same collection, it is shaped like Mickey Mouse’s silhouette and includes the Mickey and Minnie Little Patches print. It has enough room to hold your annual pass, drivers license and debit card with a little more room for cash or loose coins! For those of us that pack our bags full to the brim with park necessities, you will never lose your coin purse thanks to the iconic shape!

Cath Kidston will forever be a brand that is close to my heart and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to work with them. I hope this post inspires you to always keep a little bit of Disney magic in your life, whether it be through your own personal style, home decor or an adorable Mickey-shaped coin purse! Have a magical day and keep dreamin’!
